Clarified butter is without the lactose and other milk solids. It is traditionally prepared by gently heating butter until it becomes a clear golden liquid. The lactose and other milk solids coagulate and are meticulously removed. This process also evaporates most of the natural water content, making the clarified butter light, pure and resistant to spoilage.

Orange Cake

  • 100 g​ ​​QBB GHEE
  • 1/2 cup ​​Castor sugar
  • 3 ​​​Eggs
  • 120 g ​​​Self raising flour
  • 1/4 tsp ​​Orange flavouring
  • 10 g ​​​Orange peel, grated
  • 1 cup ​​​Chopped walnut

  1. Cream QBB GHEE with sugar in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add eggs gradually, then orange flavouring, add orange peel and chopped walnut. Mix well.
  3. Fold in flour gradually.
  4. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased and lined cake mould and bake in a preheated oven at 160ºC for 40 minutes.
  5. Remove cake from mould while hot and cool before serving.
