Clarified butter is without the lactose and other milk solids. It is traditionally prepared by gently heating butter until it becomes a clear golden liquid. The lactose and other milk solids coagulate and are meticulously removed. This process also evaporates most of the natural water content, making the clarified butter light, pure and resistant to spoilage.

QBB Pandan Rempah Rice

  • 1 kg basmati rice
  • 1 liter pandan water (8 pandan leaves blended with one litre water and sieved)
  • 200 ml evaporated milk
  • 6 tbsp QBB Ghee

Sliced Ingredients
  • 1 onion
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 4 cm ginger
  • 4 green chillies
  • 2 red chillies
  • 1 tomato, cut into 4 pieces

Blended Ingredients
  • 1 big onion
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 5 green chillies
  • 4 red chillies
  • 1 stalk lemon grass
  • 1 cup mint leaves
  • ½ cup curry leaves

  • 1 ½ tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp concentrated chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tbsp pepper

  1. Wash rice and drained
  2. Pour in pandan water and milk in the rice cooker and cook until boiled
  3. Saute all the slice ingredients in a pan until fragrant. Add in the blended ingredients and fry until aromatic. Pour the mixture into the rice cooker and stir until well combined.
  4. Add in the rice and seasoning. Leave until cooked
